Rob dominates in Mazda Supercup at Brands Hatch season opener
Rob Boston returned to the Mazda Supercup Championship in a self-prepared and engineered car at Brands Hatch on the 7th/8th April.
Having not raced in the series since his Championship win in 2011, Rob was tempted back by the impressive driver entry including many previous champions from a wide variety of formulas.
Rob achieved a strong qualifying position of 2nd in a session where the top 25 cars were all within 1 second of each other. He successfully converted this performance into two race wins and a 3rd place finish over the 2 day meeting up against fierce competition from Jack Harding, Luke Herbert and Mazda regular Tom Roche.
Rob spoke of his return to Mazda racing:
"What a weekend! It was great to compete against a huge entry of top drivers. Some old faces and lots of new ones to watch out for in the future. The craziest close qualifying with 0.9 seconds covering the top 25 cars! Really happy to have such close racing and come away with fantastic results. My Rob Boston Racing team mate Steve Roberts showed fantastic pace and will be doing some winning soon I am sure. Thanks to everyone who came to support me and the team."
